This eight-issue series provides a handy resource for the serious fan who wants to know everything about DC’s long-running super-hero team series. The Index follows the Justice League of America from its debut in The Brave and The Bold #28 in 1960 through 261 issues of Justice League of America, ending in April of 1987. The index features cover reproductions of every issue, plot synopses, credits, character appearances, and notes and comments.

As a bonus, the Index also lists JLA appearances in other titles, limited series, annuals, and solo appearances by members of the JLA who don’t have much of an existence outside of that title, such as the Red Tornado. The Index even does a good job sorting out the plot complications of DC’s Crisis On Infinite Earths, which rewrote the continuity of the DC Universe in a way that dramatically impacted a long-running title like JLA.
