    (DC, 1989)
™ and ©1989 DC Comics, Inc.

Down-and-out writer Peter Sands desperately needed a big story in order to pay his bills. He thought he had hit the jackpot when a publisher asked him to write the unauthorized biography of Lex Luthor. The ruthless Luthor, however, was sure to object, as the unfortunate Sands quickly discovered. Luthor’s rise in the crime world dated back to his childhood, and the few people who knew Luthor’s secrets were afraid to reveal them. Sands eventually persuaded them to discuss Luthor’s past, but not even Superman could save him when Luthor found out about Sands’ investigation.
