Martial artist Tatewaki Kuno’s infatuation with a pig-tailed, redheaded girl is one of the most humorous aspects of Rumiko Takahashi’s popular manga. It’s the not the crush itself that’s funny but that the lovely lady is actually a boy, Ranma, and Kuno’s archenemy. Whenever Ranma is splashed with cold water, he becomes a she, and only hot water can switch her—or is that him?—back.

In this storyline Kuno crashes on a beach with a watermelon on his head and a serious case of amnesia. Ranma was always able to keep Kuno from a distance by transforming back into a male. However, the distaff version of Ranma is suddenly trapped with Kuno on a island, a place without the hot water needed to transform the feminized Ranma back into a male.
