When the I Love Lucy TV show debuted in 1951, no one figured it would last a season. They certainly never thought it would do so well and live on so fondly in people’s memories that 40 years later, a comic book company would be reprinting the daily newspaper strip that evolved from the series. But that’s the case here, as each issue of this six-part series reprints 10 weeks of the mid-’50s strip. All the famous characters are here—Ricky Ricardo, Fred and Ethel, and of course Lucy herself. Madcap adventures include a babysitter with a crush on Ricky, Lucy tackling a singing career, and various humorous battles between one of TV’s favorite couples.

Published by Eternity Comics and drawn by Bob Oksner, whose “good girl art” appeared in various other syndicated strips.
