If you’ve never been to a Laser Quest arena—those warehouse-sized coliseums where you and your closest friends can run around in the dark shooting each other with beams of light—you may be more than a bit mystified by this tabloid-sized comic, a rather thin promotional piece given out, apparently, to entice rad teens to come on over to their local LQ arena and engage in a little mayhem. The comic, such as it is, tells the story of a fictional group of Questors, each with his or her own engaging “American Gladiators” type handle: Alpha, Freon, Leon, Mouth, Lard and Snot (we couldn’t make this up!). Our intrepid heroes live in the Laser Quest world, but sometimes have to venture out into this hum-drum alternate reality called “the real world” where they go disguised as normal hip youths. The game, thankfully, is much more exciting than the comic.
