Created by Paul Barlow from what he claims are diary excerpts, interviews, and source periodicals, this black-and-white series chronicles the early days of the Edwardian hero, Troy. Labeled by Barlow as “the greatest thinker of the twenties, explorer of the thirties, and enigma of the forties,” Troy emerges from the Far East in the latter half of the century as “our greatest hope for redemption.”

In the opening book of the series we find Troy arriving in Phoenix Square where he begins to realize something is amiss. He suspects his companions’ motives for their travel are far more clandestine then he assumed. With few panels per page, and a story as enigmatic as the underdeveloped characters, this is a mystery, and not one the reader will want to solve. Barlow portrays his character as a Renaissance man who shaped the centuries, yet the one-dimensional writing makes the reader wish he had stayed in the past.
