Avengelyne: Deadly Sins

The fallen angel, Avengelyne, was one of the foremost “bad girl” characters that populated the comic racks in the mid-1990s. In this mini-series, she confronts seven demons in Las Vegas.

Avengelyne has more than just her pinup figure going for her in this series. The seven deadly sins, Wrath, Envy, Greed, Lust, Sloth, Gluttony, and Pride are anthropomorphically depicted as demons from hell. Designed by penciler John Stinsman, these embodiments of intangible concepts have a supernatural demeanor that is reminiscent of the representations of the Endless from Sandman. The seven wreak havoc in Las Vegas by influencing and awakening their aspects in humans. Only Avengelyne can stop them before they utterly destroy the city and its people.
