This large format title brings readers the sort of high quality, end-of-the-world science-fiction that has seldom been seen since the fifties. In many ways, it’s reminiscent of such classic titles as Weird Fantasy and Weird Science.

The series starts off with “The Blood of the Universe,” in which a doctor treats a patient who has been experiencing mental flashes from other worlds. As a child, the patient had been involved in an auto accident and was actually considered dead for three minutes before he was revived. That experience seems to have unlocked some sort of mental door in the man, exposing his mind to another realm of existence. As the doctor continues her examination, she finds her own mind affected in a similar manner. When she finally learns the terrible secret at the heart of the universe, she is driven to commit murder in order to protect the sanity of every person on Earth.
