Insane Clown Posse

If 2 Live Crew and Kiss were somehow gene spiced, their offspring would be the Insane Clown Posse. A few years ago, the ICP gained limited fame and a cult following when their debut album, The Great Molenko was pulled off the shelves by Disney, who owned their record label, after religious groups threatened to boycott the Magic Kingdom. So, Disney caved, they got boycotted anyway, and somebody looking to make a buck snapped up the rights to the ICP album and that got released too. Now, several years later, with a new ICP album in stores, marketing genii flood the market with tour videos, action figures, and yes, an Insane Clown Posse comic from Chaos Comics.

As interesting as its background may be, the comic here is little more than a clumsy marketing gimmick—trying to cast the no-talent rappers as “a chaotic duo of juggling masters” that “juggle the sins of mortal man.” Neither the premise nor the story make any sense, but it comes loaded with as much brutality, bad language, “gangsta” posing, and sexist clichés as the writers can manage. Absolute excrement.
