Nova (3rd Series)

The Amazing Spider-Man is married to a supermodel so Richard Ryder picks up the slack as Marvel Comics’ resident hard-luck hero in this third series to feature Nova, the Human Rocket. Taking on such foes as the rampaging Rhino, the diabolical Doctor Octopus, and the vengeance-seeking Nebula while trying to balance a full load of college classes, a job at a fast-food restaurant, and a love life makes for some tough going for our bucket-headed protagonist. But it is this balancing act that captures the spirit of the early days of Spider-Man. Erik Larsen (Savage Dragon) and Joe Bennett (The Amazing Spider-Man) are the creative forces behind this entertaining—but short-lived—title.
