Demon Dreams

    (Pacific, 1984)
™ and ©1983 Arthur Suydam

Demon Dreams was a two-issue series highlighting the work of Arthur Suydam. A veteran of DC’s House of Secrets, Suydam later went on to create The New Adventures of Cholly and Flytrap, a story about two wandering adventurers in a post-apocalyptic world. He is perhaps best known for his work in Heavy Metal, from which many of these stories are adapted.

Sulidam’s stories are classic adult horror, vaguely reminiscent of H.P. Lovecraft. Among the best is “Bad Breath,” the tale of a man with chronic halitosis who finds a cure—and a sure-fire way to woo women—when a demon springs to life within him.
