The High Chaparral

A comic book based on the “property” Western that is similar in format to and in fact produced by that other “property” Western, Bonanza. Instead of the Ponderosa, Chaparral was located on two ranches owned by the Montoya and the Cannon families in the Arizona Territory. The show starred Leif Erickson and focused on the families’ problems with each other and with their ranch hands. And like Bonanza, there were some lighthearted moments filled with humor and camaraderie.
