First time auteurs Jason McNamara and Tony Talbert present San Francisco with a super-hero named the Punk in this irascible black and white psychodrama. Refreshingly, this is not the postcard city of the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman’s Wharf, but that other San Francisco of sex clubs, spiritualist cults, and mid-day smoke-outs (not to mention “lady boys”, bike messengers and grave robbers). The enigmatic hero dispenses wedgies and smart talk and his enemy is a mind-controlling corporate malefactor named the Sleeper. This four-issue miniseries may be followed up with further adventures.
