Spider-Man: Quality of Life

    (Marvel, 2002)
™ and ©2002 Marvel Characters, Inc.

Completely computer-generated art and a script by fan-favorite Greg Rucka bring a new dimension to the smart-aleck-y, web-slinging Spider-Man in this 4-issue mini-series from Marvel. Spider-man in fully rendered 3D graphics seems to leap off the page as he helps friend and former villian, Dr. Curt Conners (a/k/a the Lizard) and his family. Apparently the evil conglomerate Monssano (a thinly veiled caricature of the real-world mega-corporation Monsanto) is responsible for Dr. Conners’ wife’s and son’s illness. Only Spider-man can get the information that can save the two, but faced with the combined hindrances of the half-woman, half-snake assassin Yith and an enraged Conners-turned-Lizard, it’s a fight that even the wallcrawler might lose. Filled with all of the action, mystery and panache that fans have come to expect from a Rucka script, this is a must read for Spidey fans.
