The love story between Daredevil and his assassin girlfriend Elektra is retold for Ultimate continuity. In this version, Elektra and pre-Daredevil Matt Murdock attend the same college. It’s love at first sight for Elektra when she sees Murdock exercising in a gym. Writer Greg Rucka’s portrayal of Elektra in this four-part series is more emotional, exhibiting genuine warmth while still remaining tough. Elektra’s life, caught in the bliss of her romance with Murdock, suddenly turns sour when one of her friends is raped.
