The Fallen

This beautifully illustrated, exquisitely haunting graphic novel follows tattoo artist John Savory into the underground network of vampires who haunt New York’s avant–garde art scene, and while Savory may certainly seem avant–garde in his own right, one must question whether this foray into the dark and dangerous will be his undoing. The concept of the vampire has always been connected to human sexuality, and this tale finds Savory immersed in an S&M sort of cult that has a taste for blood. He may, indeed, be forever lost in a world that exists on the most primal level.

Gorgeous. Disturbing. Intriguing. While its stylistic elements are not geared to straight–forward storytelling, it invites readers to look deeply and to become involved with the very moody narrative.
