When Ted Knight, the former Starman, is kidnapped by magic-wielding Nazi skinheads, Batman finds he must work with Hellboy, the red-skinned emissary of the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense, in order to save the scientist.

Although Batman prefers to operate alone, Hellboy convinces him to team up on the strength of Hellboy’s extensive paranormal experience. They’ll need all the help they can get when they face an airfield of supernaturally powered skinheads.

In the second issue, Ted Knight’s son, the new Starman, joins Hellboy when Batman is detained in Gotham. The new duo must travel to San Diablo, a small outpost in the Amazon Jungle, where the Knights of October, a real “old-fashioned” Nazi group, plan to complete their evil plans.

The two-issue mini-series is written by James Robinson, with art by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola.
