Gambit & the X-Ternals

(From The Slings & Arrows Comic Guide)

One of the mini-series in Marvelís Age of Apocalypse, which placed the X-Men characters in an alternate world where their enemy rules the Earth. Gambit and the Xternals was probably the least interesting of the series, pitting the Cajun card-thrower and the immortal Externals against nothing very interesting as they attempt to steal the MíKraan crystal and restore normality to a fractured universe. Itís more cosmic than the other Age of Apocalypse books, but lacks the character-driven analyses which made the best ones worth the effort, leaving a story that would be dull no matter what world it was set on. ~JC
