At the end of the first “X-Men” movie, Professor Charles Xavier told Wolverine he might be able to help him uncover his lost memories. This one-shot, a sort of prequel to the second film, tells the story of Wolverine’s trip to an apparently abandoned military complex that may contain the answers Wolverine seeks, as Xavier has found a link between it and Wolverine’s adamantium-laced skeleton. This issue whetted appetites for the X-Men movie sequel “X2,” and also hinted at additional details of Wolverine’s origin. By Brian Vaughan and Tom Mandrake.
