In the tradition of spy-hunter stories, Black Leopard is the latest sword-wielding super-secret agent. Following a convoluted backstory, he reclaims his trusty blade Sabertooth from the care of two feng-shui masters, to prepare for his bout with Edge Sanbu, the heir to a Japanese mafia family.

However, Black Leopard must battle the aptly named Fat King, a renegade general who seeks revenge on those who betrayed him. Then why is Edge’s wife helping Leopard save his teammate Lily who’s been imprisoned by the Sanbu clan? Finally, these two foes square off and the sparks fly. Meanwhile, Edge’s father guarantees victory at all costs, even if it means partnering with the detested Black Sun and reconciling with his prodigal son Martial.

Penned by Hong Kong’s Wing Shing Ma (creator of The Storm Riders), this is one non-stop series of bone-crunching and blood-splattering explosions with plot and character motivation as an afterthought. Speed lines and sound effects abound, but they only add to the headache readers will get from wondering what the heck is going on.
