FantaSci

(From the Slings & Arrows Comic Guide)

Terrible title for a terrible black-and-white anthology that unimaginatively mixes fantasy and science fiction. For the record, Fantasci contains three continuing features. There’s Don Lomax’s tiresome super-hero skit Captain Obese (big fat bloke becomes a costumed do-gooder for “the common man” and, er, that’s it), a laugh-free dwarf comedy, “A Hero Named Harold,” by Kevin Davies and Steve Stirling, and an atrocious science-fiction adventure from Mark Stadler and Dave Hoover entitled “Hunter XX.” The good news is that the latter is gone from #7. ~AL
