(From the Slings & Arrows Comic Guide)

A comic whose response to the proliferation of gimmick covers from major companies is to shoot bullets of varying caliber through their entire print run is to be cherished. Sadly, the contents of this Texas anthology don’t always live up to that idea. The most successful graduate is the introspective lunacy of Shannon Wheeler’s Too Much Coffee Man, wearing a giant cup of Java on his head for those occasions when an instant full-caffeinated pick-me-up is required. Tom King’s “Teen Squad” also has a few laughs, and both King and Wheeler incorporate the bullet hole into their third-issue stories. ~FP
