Broken Axis

 BROA   (Antarctic, 1996)

and 1996 Ted Nomura

Four bug-eyed aliens crash land in a North African desert during World War II, and decide to amuse themselves by kidnapping all the major Axis and Allied players, place them in robot fighters, and let them duke it out. In between, they make a lot of pop culture jokes.

While the main story is silly with immaturity that might be part of the joke, a backup short exploring the history of flying saucers is quite interesting.

The work was created by Ted Nomura and Ben Dunn, whose other credits include Gigantor, also from Antarctic Press.
