Melon and Non are lovely young school girls in modern-day Japan, whose pursuits include studying the country’s feudal history and sexually pleasuring one another, not always in that order. It’s the latter activity that gets them into trouble, as Melon’s sexual arousal creates a magical rift in time that sends the girls 130 years into the past to encounter Ryoma Sakamoto, the greatest hero of the Japanese restoration of 1868. Unfortunately, their sudden appearance in the past, at a time when Ryoma is being pursued by enemy assassins, causes myriad problems for him and them—not the least of which might be a history that doesn’t unfold the way it’s supposed to.
Translated from the Japanese and published in black and white by Antarctic Press, this series is certainly for adults only, with no shortage of explicit sex. But it has more on its mind than just that, including a close examination of Japan’s feudal past. By Kaori Asano.
