Considered another one of John Wayne’s movie classics with Director Howard Hawks, this Movie Classics entry is in reality a cowboy film shot in the jungle. Shhh! Don’t tell anyone! Despite this revelation, the movie is not that bad. Any film that features Henry Mancini’s “Baby Elephant Walk” couldn’t be all that bad, could it? Funnyman Red Buttons is along for the ride as comedy relief and Wayne uses his usual “pilgrim” shtick, all of which is not conveyed as effectively on the printed page of the Dell comic.
