Buster Brown Comic Book

 BBCB   (Buster Brown, 1945-1959)

and 1946 the copyright holder

Buster Brown is one of the oldest characters in American comics, dating from the early 1900s and created by Richard F. Outcault!. The little Dutch boy, Buster Brown, in his red beret and blue tunic is a familiar figure to many people at least as much because of his association with Buster Brown shoes as his comic book adventures. Strengthening this association was the Buster Brown Comic Book published as a promotional item and radio show tie-in during the 1940s and 50s. Considering their primary function was to sell shoes, the comics were remarkably well produced and packaged, featuring strong artwork by notables like Reed Crandall, among others.
