Plastic Man (2nd Series)

“Eel” O’Brian had been orphaned at a young age. Forced to grow up on his own, he turned to a life of crime. He and his gang tried robbing the Crawford Chemical Works but they were discovered by a guard who shot Eel. Eel stumbled into a batch of strange chemicals and managed to make his way to a monastery before collapsing. The monks sensed good within him and they hid him from police. Eel was inspired by their faith in him and decided to reform. As a result of the chemicals he found he make his body almost infinitely elastic. Using these abilities, he took on the identity of Plastic Man and became a super-hero.

A somewhat silly crimefighter, Plastic Man first appeared in 1941’s Police Comics #1. He was revived by DC in this 1960s series which ran ten issues before suspending publication for over a decade. It then began again in 1976 for ten more issues. Plastic Man has also been a member of the All-Star Squadron and the Freedom Fighters.
