Who’s the stone-faced cowboy with the eyes of steel and the gun of death? It’s Republic Pictures’ movie star Bob Steele, and in the 1940s he was one of the motion pictures studio’s greatest stars. Beginning in silent films, he made the transition to sound and starred in dozens of Westerns, most notably part of “The Three Mesquiteers,” one of the studio’s most popular Western series. This comic is based on those classic adventures, and is reprinted here after originally being published in the 1950s. Stories include such ripping yarns as “Dynamite Death,” in which ruthless killers stalk wagon trains, and only the wits, guns, and sharp right cross of Bob Steele can save the day.

Issues also include short backup features starring another Republic Pictures’ star, Rocky Lane.
