Sancho

ô and © 20,000 Leagues

20,000 Leagues is a comic-book company created in Dublin, Ireland. Sancho is a one-shot about an exorcist and his lifelong struggle against the forces of evil, bouncing around Sanchoís life and reading like a TV movie. Itís much more satisfying when you get a pay-off in one issue, rather than several cliffhangers building up to one. Sancho rocks! Readers canít get this through comics distributors yet but can order directly from the companyís website.

Alan Nolanís art is stark and dark but functions well for the story. Itís not just because theyíre all Irish that these guys remind the reader of Garth Ennisí work, but Sancho has a similar feel. But where Ennis will go over the top with gore and graphic sex, Ian Whelan and Nolan are more tempered.
