Dr. Malcolm Syberg was often described as being “like Edison on speed.” He was a brilliant inventor who had devoted his life to the pursuit of science, from the time he invented an anti-gravity propulsion system, at age 12, using his dad’s air compressor and a pair of his mom’s old stockings.

Unfortunately Syberg’s brilliance attracted attention from those who would prefer to deprive America of it’s most talented inventor. A bomb tore through a science fair where Syberg was speaking, killing many of those closest to Syberg, and leaving him with a degenerative, crippling affliction. In the final days of his life, he was funded by the military to do weapons research. Instead, he created four androids, and implanted his own brain into one of them before a program he devised wiped clean all records of his work. Even his own memories were gone. Left with a “useless” scientist in a cyborg body, the military decided to use “Doctor Cyborg” as their own, very special agent.
