The Five Fists of Science

    (Image, 2006)

“Come witness the power of science to enforce a Compulsion for Peace!”
Or so Mark Twain, Nikola Tesla, and Baroness Bertha Von Suttner believe. Fresh from a council on world disarmament, Twain is frustrated. The Tsar’s plea for peace is ignored, while President McKinley, The Kaiser, Queen Victoria, and the other leaders vie for power in the new post-Boer War world.
What a grand scheme! Peace by compulsion. With Twain at the PR helm, Tesla on the science end, and Baroness Suttner their ideological anchor, how can it fail? With Andrew Carnegie, J.P. Morgan, and Thomas Edison struggling to build the Innsbruck and fighting Twain every step of the way, deaths mounting, and black magic, The Five Fists of Science must triumph over evil to save the world!
Wow. This is an ambitious story. However, with so many players and such a complex plot, it becomes convoluted, and even the art by Steven Sanders (as good as it is) fails to turn this into a better novel.
