Comics Creators on the X-Men

 CCOZ   (Titan, 2006)

As always, Marvel’s popular mutants are popping up everywhere. Titan Books, in the latest installment of its insightful Comic Creators On … series, has tackled The X-Men. Editor and writer Tom DeFalco has brought together an impressive list of creators.

Stan Lee, Roy Thomas, Neal Adams, Dave Cockrum, Chris Claremont, John Byrne, Alan Davis, Louise Simonson, Marc Silvestri, Bob Harras, Scott Lobdell, Chris Bachalo, Grant Morrison, and Mark Millar talk candidly about their X-projects specifically and comics work in general. Sketch-pad art, comics covers, contribution lists, and comic art are included.

X-Men fans will love this format. Whether the reader is a fan of the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, or today’s version of the mutants, there is something for everyone. If only Jack Kirby could have been included in more detail.

As a reference book, this could even be deemed “essential.”
