The New Teen Titans: Who is Donna Troy?

    (DC, 2005)
™ and © 2005 DC Comics, Inc.

Whether as Wonder Girl, Troia, or Darkstar, Donna Troy has been a popular member of the Teen Titans for decades. Although originally introduced in 1965 as a teen-aged Wonder Woman, Donna’s separate identity as her adopted sister and sidekick was soon established. However, Crisis on Infinite Earths revamped Wonder Woman completely, leaving Donna without a past, and essentially without a place in the new continuity. Over the years, several stories attempted to resolve this, but often created even more contradictions, as seen in the popular stories showcased here.

Collecting The New Teen Titans (First Series) #38, Tales of the Teen Titans #50, The New Titans #50-55, and Phil Jimenez’s touching eulogy from Teen Titans/Outsiders Secret Files 2003 (Donna was seemingly killed by a rogue Superman robot) Donna’s convoluted past is examined, and the foundation is set for her return in Infinite Crisis and her important new role in the DCU.
