Francis Marion didn’t set out to be a hero. He was living a comfortable life in colonial America, his fighting days in the French and Indian War behind him. But when British soldiers wanted to hang his friends for refusing to pay unfair taxes, he couldn’t just sit by and let it happen, even if it meant committing treason. So he became the “Swamp Fox” and disrupted the British armies through guerrilla tactics. Swamp Fox: Birth of a Legend takes Marion’s nickname literally and presents him as a fox in a cartoon America facing the encroaching Red Coat rabbit forces in an entertaining presentation that brings history to life.
