Backpack Marvels: X-Men

Scott Summers, also known as Cyclops, has just suffered through the loss of his love, Jean Grey. Yet almost immediately, he has fallen in love with a woman who seems to be her twin in every way. Is she the reincarnation of his lost love, and if so, will the evil Dark Phoenix rise again?

And just in case that wasn’t enough, Mystique, from the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and the underground-dwelling Morlocks are closing in on the X-men as well.

Each of these digest-size, black and white publications reprints several stories from Uncanny X-Men, beginning around issue #167. Although they lack the color (and size) of the originals, they’re still a cost-effective way to pick up on some great X-Men tales.
