Jackie Robinson

 JACR   (Fawcett, 1950-1952)

™ and © Fawcett Publications, Inc.

Like Babe Ruth Sports Comics, Jackie Robinson features stories of the famous Brooklyn Dodgers baseball player. Robinson is best known for not only being a great hall of fame player, but also to be the first baseball player to break the “race” barrier, being the first black major league player. The comic stories are fairly pedestrian affairs and focused solely on Robinson’s baseball playing skills. As a result, the entire effort was short-lived and is notable today as there are very few celebrity starring comic books published anymore.
