Black & White (Viz)

Made popular in the pages of Pulp Magazine, Viz Comics retells the story of Black-and-white in its own—you guessed it—black and white series. Originally presented as a serialized story (the way comics are read in Japan), the comic book rendition packs two chapters of the story’s overall tale within the pages of each title.

Mean kids practice random acts of violence and senseless ugliness on the streets of Treasure Town. Black (a streetwise sinner) and White (a dimwitted innocent) have always been inseparable as they rollicked and rampaged their way through the city’s surreal streets. But when the police take White into protective custody, Black is left to run amok—no calming influence to temper his violent tendencies.

Did I mention that a strange alien cult is out to exterminate our anti-heroes? Welcome to the violently adult manga world of Black-and-white.
