Limited Collectors’ Edition

 LICE   (DC, 1972-1978)

™ and ©1972 DC Comics

DC’s popular series of 10x13.5-inch treasury-or tabloid-sized reprint comics ran from 1972 until 1978 and featured a wide variety of classic Golden Age and Silver Age material. Of course, DC stalwart Superman was represented in a number of issues, but some of the more interesting editions featured such gems as the 1946 Sunday comic strips starring Batman and Two-Face; Golden Age adventures of the Marvel Family; 1943-44 “Dick Tracy vs. Flattop” comic strips by Chester Gould; the Batman/Ra’s al Ghul saga by Denny O’Neil, Neal Adams, and Irv Novick; the first battle between the Legion of Super-Heroes and Mordru; and Joe Kubert’s complete adaptation of the origin of Tarzan. One issue of Limited Collectors’ Edition even presented all-new adaptations of Bible stories by Kubert, Sheldon Mayer, and Nestor Redondo.
