Metadocs

 METI   (Antarctic, 2005)

™ and ©2005 Joe Dunn and Rod Espinosa

“I haven’t been feeling well since my last interdimensional trip.”

“How long is the wait? I gotta get my claws reattached.”

If these were snippets of conversation you overhead in a hospital waiting room, you may think you¹ve stumbled into the psychiatric wing. But it’s all business-as-usual for Metadocs.

Comic fan Joe Dunn—who has a degree in medicine—considered the ramifications of super-hero fights and the fallout these conflicts would necessitate at the local community hospital. The result is this title which is an intriguing combination of super-hero and emergency room melodrama. The art is very clean and uncluttered almost to the point of being simplistic, but it serves the story’s intention of portraying extraordinary individuals in conventional surroundings.
