Conan the Barbarian (Vol. 2)

 CTB2   (Marvel, 1997)

™ and © Marvel Characters, Inc.

Conan the Barbarian was a Marvel Comics mainstay for a number of years and a number of series, but in the mid-1990’s, the House of Ideas overhauled the Conan line and launched a series of limited series starring everyone’s favorite sword-wielding Cimmerian. This three-parter focuses on the denizens of a village called Kyof’s Grove and the dark forces lurking in the woods surrounding the town that threaten to destroy them. Conan the Cimmerian has come to the villagers’ aid in this standard fare fantasy tale, but will even his lauded prowess be enough to save them?

This is series is notable for the beautiful artwork of Claudio Castellini (Marvel Versus DC/DC Versus Marvel), whose style shows the influence of comics industry stalwart and legendary Conan artist John Buscema.
