™ and ©1999 Blatant Comics

In 1983, a naked girl walks up out of the water to the Statue of Liberty. She speaks no English and she is amazed at everything around her. The police are baffled, but decide to hand her over to social services and let them take care of her. In need of a name, they christen her Boulder Colorado. Sixteen years later, she’s speaking gangsta rap like a pro, finding that she needs periodic immersions in water to stay healthy, and is invited to a scientific research base to examine a strange pod with the words “Dark Aeonix” printed on the side. What is Ms. Colorado’s secret, who is the mysterious being who refers to her as “mistress”, and what does the dangerous pod contain after all these years?

Ben Birdie and Mike Rosenzweig have weaved a complex story with Antonio Jimenez’s art to bring us an intriguing black and white comic for mature readers.
